Electrolytes are one of the main components of lithium batteries and are divided into different types such as liquid electrolyte, solid electrolyte, and polymer electrolyte. Polymer electrolytes, as one of the main components of these batteries, are a suitable alternative to solve the safety problems of liquid electrolytes. As a result, using polymer electrolytes increases battery life. However, these electrolytes have disadvantages such as lithium-ion transfer number low ionic conductivity, and poor compatibility with electrodes. One of the solutions to solve the mentioned challenges is to use polymer electrolytes with the ability to transfer single ions. Polymer electrolytes with the ability to transfer single ions consist of a polymer backbone with side branches containing anionic functional groups that facilitate the free movement of lithium ions. Single-ion conductive electrolytes can be divided into different types such as materials based on sulfonyl imide, carboxylate, sulfonate, boron, and polyurethane materials.  The use of these electrolytes is considered an effective and desirable way to increase the lifespan of batteries. Traditional treatment methods often face substantial limitations in fully eliminating these pollutants. Among the innovative solutions, photocatalysts have gained considerable attention for their efficiency in degrading organic and resistant pollutants. Zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) stand out among photocatalysts due to their exceptional optical, chemical, and catalytic properties. However, ZnO suffers from challenges such as low visible light absorption, rapid electron-hole recombination, and limited stability, which restrict its efficiency. This study explores various synthesis techniques and doping strategies to improve ZnO’s photocatalytic performance and enhance its visible light sensitivity. Furthermore, the integration of ZnO with chitosan-based hydrogels is proposed as a novel and eco-friendly approach to overcoming these limitations. These hydrogels, featuring high pollutant adsorption capacity, biocompatibility, and enhanced stability, play a crucial role in boosting ZnO’s performance. The results demonstrate that combining ZnO with chitosan hydrogels significantly enhances the degradation efficiency of organic pollutants and offers a sustainable strategy for reducing water pollution. These materials can be effectively used in the removal of pollutants and water purification, especially under visible light radiation, due to their unique abilities to absorb and convert light into chemical energy. However, the main problem of MOFs lies in their powder form, which limits their practical application. Especially, the separation and recovery processes of these powder materials are difficult and time-consuming. To solve these limitations, the method of stabilizing MOFs on polymer substrates has been proposed as an innovative solution. This immobilization allows MOFs to be used as photocatalyst membranes. Photocatalyst membranes containing MOF can be effectively used in the water purification process. These membranes have the ability to destroy organic pollutants and remove metal ions through photocatalysis processes under visible light irradiation. These features are especially important in the treatment of water contaminated with chemicals and heavy metals. This study has comprehensively investigated the performance of photocatalyst membranes containing MOF in various fields of water treatment. The analyzes carried out include the investigation of different effects on the degradation of organic pollutants and the removal of metal ions using these membranes. Epoxies and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are utilized in various industries due to their high adhesive properties and chemical resistance. MOFs are compounds composed of metal ions and organic ligands that are utilized in engineering fields due to their porous structure and high surface area. This study demonstrates that the use of modified metal-organic frameworks in epoxy resin   and epoxy nanocomposites positively impacts the morphology and dispersion of nanoparticles. The presence of amine and methacrylate groups contributes to improved compatibility and reduced surface defects. Additionally, the incorporation of graphene oxide and melamine nanofillers has aided in enhancing the dispersion of nanoparticles. The results of this research emphasize the importance of optimizing surface properties and the appropriate selection of fillers, which can serve as a foundation for future investigations in this field. However, this surge has led to serious environmental concerns, as polyolefins, due to their nonpolar structure and high molecular weight, are highly resistant to degradation in natural environments and can persist for hundreds of years. Consequently, developing strategies to enhance the degradability of these materials has become crucial. Various approaches have been proposed to improve the biodegradability of polymers, including blending polyolefins with natural polymers, incorporating oxo-biodegradable additives, pro-oxidants, and employing physical processes like ultraviolet radiation. Oxo-biodegradable additives accelerate polymer oxidation and modify their molecular structure, enhancing non-biological degradation and converting the polymers into simpler compounds that are more readily absorbed by nature. These additives are generally categorized into two types: organo-metallic compounds, such as iron and manganese, and non-metallic compounds, such as peroxides. Additionally, the use of natural polymers like starch, one of the most widely used polysaccharides, is common in blending with polyolefins. In Iran, the use of natural polymers and oxo-biodegradable additives has expanded due to easier accessibility and lower costs. However, the use of oxo-biodegradable materials also poses certain environmental challenges, such as incomplete biodegradation and recycling issues.
